David Brooks is an American commentator with extensive political, conservative and cultural knowledge and experience. He was born on August 11, 1961 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. David Brooks has American citizenship, but his ethnicity is Jewish. However, he is not a strong follower of Jewish culture. His parents are both scholars, his father being a lecturer in English and literature at New York University, while his mother, a historian, studies British history at Columbia University.
David got his start at Grace Church School located in Greenwich Village in Lower Manhattan, New York, but his family moved to Philadelphia. It was where he began and completed his high school education at Radnor High School before beginning to study history at the University of Chicago, where he graduated in 1983.
