Sydel Curry is the sister of NBA superstar, StephCurry and Seth Curry. Like the other members of the Curry clan, Sydel is an athlete. She had aspired to turn professional with her volleyball career, but her dreams were shattered in college when an injury forced her to announce the premature end of her career.

In February 2017, she took to her Facebook page to break the sad news to her fans. The post read;

“I never thought my first adult decision about my future would be something so difficult. I have dedicated so much of my life, my identity to my sport. As an athlete and competitor, I will always want to put my sport before a lot of things. Although I want nothing more than to have played my fifth year, I know that some things, like injuries, are beyond my control and I put it all in God’s hands. It’s an unexpected ending to an amazing chapter that I thank God for every day. ”

Curry is a social media celebrity with over 500,000 followers on Instagram where she is very active.

Sydel was born on October 20, 1994 in Charlotte.North Carolina, USA, Dell Curry, retired NBA player best known for his experience with the Charlotte Hornets and Sonya Curry, school administrator at Christian Montessori School in Lake Norman , who played volleyball at Radford High School and Virginia Tech University. While the boys followed their father, Sydel chose to follow in mom’s footsteps.

Sydel attended an elementary school her mother helped set up. However, between 2001 and 2002 when his father played for the Toronto Raptors, Sydel lived with his father in Toronto and attended Queensway Christian College in Etobicoke, Ontario.

Like her two older brothers, Sydel attended Charlotte Christian School in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she played volleyball. She was a starter for four years and captain of her team for three of those years. Under his leadership, the team reached the state quarterfinals for three seasons. During the 2012 season, Sydel played a significant role in helping his team set a new school record for most wins in a season.

Sydel was a four-time Conference All-CISAA selector (2009-12) and three-time NCISAA All-State (2011-12). In addition to playing for his school team, Sydel played for the Carolina Union and competed in national championships with them in 2012.

When it came to college, Sydel had two options; Elon University or UNC-Greensboro, she chose the former. However, her freshman year didn’t start smoothly, as she might have liked, as she was rubbed off with a knee injury. During his four years with the Lady Phoenix, Curry played 81 games and recorded 2,381 career assists, which ranks him 8th in team standings. During the 2015 season, 851 assists allowed him to rank 11th for most assists in a season. His total of 1,170 assists in 2016 is the 5th most in a season.

Curry rested his arms and opted out of his 5th year due to a dislocated knee. She graduated with a degree in psychology in May 2017.
