In a tweet from the official account of Survivor.io they reveal that pets are coming soon to the game.

We're looking forward to seeing how the pets will look and how many different will arrive first of all and what their strengths will be.
Not much information was revealed with the tweet but we anticipate they will have some impact on gameplay.
Perhaps similar to the new local lan coop, the pets will help you on the game map.
It also looks like pets can be made stronger through fusion. So there will be more things to collect I guess to do this. And more ways to spend some money in the game!
