She served as chair pro tem of Los Angeles County in four terms from December 2, 2008 – December 8, 2009, December 2, 2003 – December 7, 2004, December 8, 1998 – December 7, 1999, and December 7, 1993 – December 6, 1994.
She had been a member of the California State Assembly from the 56th district from 6 December 1982 to 27 February 1987.

Gloria Molina dies at 74
Gloria Molina passed away on 14 May 2023 from terminal cancer at the age of 74. Her daughter said,
“She passed away at her home in Mt. Washington, surrounded by our family. We will miss Gloria the strong and selfless matriarch of our family.”
Gloria got diagnosed with terminal cancer three years prior. She had been battling it but the cancer had become very aggressive.
